A Covid-19 alert has been issued for the Bathurst 1000 at Mount Panorama last Saturday and Sunday.

NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet was also at the event but said he was not a close contact.

“I was informed early this afternoon that I'm not in close contact,” Mr Perrottet said on Wednesday.

“But for those people who have been in Bathurst that have symptoms they need to obviously get tested.”

Mr Perrottet insisted it was time for Australians to start learning to live with the virus.

“People will get Covid that is the reality of living alongside this virus in a pandemic,” he said.

“The alternative is to close down and keep closed forever. That‘s untenable, not workable and won’t be happening in our state.”
