Coronavirus restrictions have been eased to allow dawn services to go ahead this year but with limits remaining on numbers. Here’s what you need to know if you’ve missed out on a ticket.
NSW’s primary Anzac dawn service in Martin Place is for invited guests, with limited tickets for the general public while Victoria’s Shrine of Remembrance service at 6am is capped at 1400 attendees.
The RSL is encouraging those who want to pay their respects to attend a dawn service in their local area, though these events will also be capped in some states.
Those who choose to stay at home can watch dawn services across all TV networks, with a heavy focus on Canberra’s commemorations.
RSL Victoria is even live streaming the ABC TV broadcast of the Melbourne dawn service on its Facebook page.
Coverage on Sky News, the ABC, Ten and Nine Network starts at 4.30am, while the Seven Network broadcast will begin at 4.50am.
Anyone wanting to mark the occasion in their driveway again is encouraged to, with the option to pledge you’ll take part to the RSL.
The Light Up The Dawn website also has a downloadable or streamable audio service.
April 25 marks the 106th anniversary of the 1915 Gallipoli landing, which was the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.
Here’s where remembrance services and marches will be held in your state:
ACT
The dawn service begins at 5.30am in front of the Australian War Memorial, with visitors advised to arrive from 4.30am onwards.
The national ceremony starts at 10.30am, with the veterans’ banner parade stepping off at 10.50am.
Tickets to attend the dawn service, national ceremony and Last Post ceremony at 4.45pm are now exhausted, but all Anzac Day events will be broadcast live across Australia on ABC TV and iview.
ACT Health has given the OK for 4200 people to attend the dawn service and 3000 for the national ceremony.
A War Memorial spokesperson said hosting an event like this was an “incredible achievement” in the global conditions.
“Once the allocation has been exhausted, we’ll be encouraging people to commemorate at home,” they said.
NSW
Outdoor Anzac Day marches and services may be held in NSW as COVID-19 safe outdoor gatherings, with up to 5000 people allowed to attend subject to the 2sq m rule.
The NSW Anzac Day dawn service at the Martin Place cenotaph will start at 4.30am for invited guests, with limited tickets available for the general public.
An exemption for a maximum of 10,000 people has been granted for the Anzac Day march organised by the RSL NSW in Sydney’s CBD. It begins from 9am.
Major roads in the Sydney CBD will be closed between 2am and 4pm for the Anzac Day dawn service in Martin Place and march on Elizabeth Street.

VICTORIA
The Melbourne Dawn Service at the Shrine of Remembrance starts at 6am on Anzac Day, with 1400 tickets available to attend the event.
The CBD march to the Shrine of Remembrance involving a maximum of 5500 veteran participants marching along St Kilda Road starts at 9.30am.
The Melbourne commemoration ceremony, including the laying of the official wreath, will take place after the march at about 11am.

QUEENSLAND
The Anzac Day dawn service starts at 4.28am at Brisbane’s Shrine of Remembrance, Anzac Square, which is located between Ann and Adelaide streets.
The Anzac Day parade through Brisbane CBD will be held between 10am and midday and will feature former and current Australian Defence Force veterans and other groups.
The 2021 nurses memorial candlelight vigil will be held in Anzac Square, Brisbane City on Friday, April 23 from 5.30pm to 7.15pm as a public event.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA
The Adelaide Dawn Service at the National War Memorial starts at 6am with 2500 people available to attend.
The Adelaide commemorative march, which this year has been limited to those who have served in the Australian armed forces or those of our allies, starts at 9.30am from the National War Memorial and moves west before concluding in the streets surrounding the Cross of Sacrifice in Pennington Gardens, North Adelaide.
A service of remembrance will be held at the Cross of Sacrifice in Pennington Gardens, North Adelaide, immediately after the march finishes, with 1000 tickets made available for the public.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
The Perth dawn service starts at the State War Memorial in Kings Park at 6am, with 10,000 tickets available for people to attend.
RSLWA recommends that participants arrive from 4am. Face masks are encouraged and social distancing of 1.5m will be implemented.
The gunfire breakfast at the Government House Gardens runs from 7am to 9am, with the community invited to attend for a gold coin donation.
The Perth CBD march starts from the corner of Barrack Street and St Georges Terrace at 9am and continues to Langley Park.
A commemorative service will be held at Perth Concert Hall near Langley Park at 11am, with access to the event free but tickets required.

TASMANIA
The dawn service at the Hobart Cenotaph starts at 6am, with a ticket required to attend.
The march down Macquarie Street in Hobart involving veterans and service Australian Defence Force personnel only starts at 11am, with a commemorative service to follow at the Cenotaph.

NORTHERN TERRITORY
The Darwin dawn service commences at the cenotaph, The Esplanade at 6am, followed by an Anzac Day mass at St Mary’s Cathedral.
A parade from The Esplanade to Bennett Street and the civic centre area moves off at 9am.
