Paramedics were called to a Queensland childcare centre on Wednesday afternoon after a two-year-old boy suddenly died.

A boy has died at a daycare centre on Queensland’s Fraser Island Coast.

Paramedics were called to Maryborough Little Gems Childcare and Early Learning Centre on Wednesday afternoon after a two-year-old boy suddenly died.

In a statement, police confirmed that the circumstances were not suspicious.

Children at the centre were reportedly sent home early on Wednesday following the incident, with the centre to be closed on Thursday.

Maryborough is located on the Fraser Coast of Queensland, about four hours drive north of Brisbane and 2 hours 20 minutes north of Noosa Heads.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

The childcare centre has been contacted for comment.
