FUN SONGS BIT AND A REWARD FOR ANSWERING THOSE QUESTIONS:
Song that always makes you shake your rump and nearly split your pants and why? I’m sorry to be that typical songwriter but every Beatle song ever written!! They fire a new emotion in me everytime I listen.
Song that is a hidden gem that not many people know about but everyone should know about and love…and how you discovered it?
Girl by Sibylle Baier, I actually discovered her via Spotify recommendations, so thanks Spotify!
Song that you would gladly listen to 5 times in a row if you were stuck in an elevator for half an hour and you had to think calm thoughts? Something On Your Mind - Karen Dalton.
Song to prepare you for battle, fire you the f**k up and make you feel like you were armed to teeth and why? Call Your Girlfriend - Robyn. It is a song so innocently twisted.
Song to get someone you rather fancy in the mood for luuuuuuurve?
Nocturnes, Op. 9: No.2 in E flat - Frederic Chopin.
How did you develop your creative vision? I’m very imaginative and have always been a story teller, especially when I was a child I used to lie a lot.
REVIEW
CAN’T MAKE YOU LOVE ME
GENA ROSE BRUCE
(Dot Dash)
4 stars
Gena Rose Bruce uses bountiful guitar jangles, a husky, lower register voice and her willingness to lay out truths. This low-key debut shines in Angel Face, where she really gets the bit between the teeth and you swear you’ve heard this song before (in a good way). I Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You pays homage to Angel Olsen — a very fine influence. The Way You Make Love, For You and Coming Down contain cool, confident confessions. She’s blossoming into a spruce Bruce. Big up the Mitcham massive.
