WARMIST PITMAN CAN'T SLIDE OUT OF WHAT HE SAID ON DROUGHTS

Warmist Professor Andy Pitman gives a lecture: "There is no link between climate change and drought." Pitman backtracks when quoted on Sky News: "Andy fully admits he should have said: 'there is no direct link between climate change and drought'." But check his PowerPoint presentation. He meant what he said the first time. Someone tell Paul Barry.

Global warmist Professor Andy Pitman gives a lecture to fellow warmists:

This may not be what you expect to hear, but as far as the climate scientists know there is no link between climate change and drought.

That may not be what you read in the newspapers and sometimes hear commented, but there is no reason a priori why climate change should made the landscape more arid...

There is no drying trend.  There’s been a trend in the last twenty years, but there’s been no trend in the last hundred years, and that’s an expression on how variable Australian rainfall climate is...So the fundamental problem we have is that we don’t understand what causes droughts.

Pitman backtracks when he finds himself being quoted on Sky News. His centre tweets:

Andy fully admits he should have said: “there is no direct link between climate change and drought”.

This is what Media Watch's Paul Barry clings to, bushing over all  that Pitman has originally said:

So, does Professor Pitman actually believe there’s no link? Well, no.

But, oops! Here is a PowerPoint slide from one of Pitman's lectures on global warming and drought. How embarrassing: no mention at all of an "indirect" link in his prepared, carefully  considered written remarks:

Read for yourself. Future droughts depend on changes in .... hey, not global warming.
