Here's why they say WASH YOUR HANDS. From a new study on how long the coronavirus survives on a surface: "[The virus] was identified on a variety of surfaces in cabins of both symptomatic and asymptomatic infected passengers up to 17 days after cabins were vacated on the Diamond Princess but before disinfection procedures had been conducted.” 

Here's why they say WASH YOUR HANDS. From a new study on how long the coronavirus survives on a surface: 

 [The virus] was identified on a variety of surfaces in cabins of both symptomatic and asymptomatic infected passengers up to 17 days after cabins were vacated on the Diamond Princess but before disinfection procedures had been conducted.

But the report does not say that the virus at that stage can still infect people.
