Body cam footage has captured the dramatic moment a police officer chases down a man who allegedly stole a luxury car at knife point.
Dramatic vision has captured a Gold Coast police officer chase down a man who they allege stole a luxury car at knife point.
The footage, released by Queensland Police Service, shows an officer run after a man and yell at him to “get on the ground”.
The man then lies on the road and is hand cuffed by police.
The man is accused of stealing a silver Mercedes Benz at knife point from Howard St in Brisbane about 9.30pm on Tuesday.
The Mercedes’ occupant, a 55-year-old man, was not physically hurt in the alleged robbery.
Officers tracked the vehicle to Helensvale on the northern Gold Coast where a tyre deflation device was deployed.
A 34-year-old man from Victoria was taken into custody.
Police allegedly found a knife inside the Mercedes.
The man has since been charged with three counts of a enter premises and commit an indictable offence and one count each of armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He fronted Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
