PROMINENT Sydney gangster John Macris has been shot dead in a seaside suburb of Athens, Greece. The prominent millionaire nightclub owner would have been arrested the moment he stepped foot in Australia, so he has spent the past seven years living in exile with his Playboy model wife and young child.

EXCLUSIVE: Prominent Sydney gangster John Macris has been killed after being shot in the chest in a seaside suburb of Athens.
The prominent millionaire nightclub owner, a Greek-Australian, was reportedly peppered with four bullets as he was getting out of his Smart car in Voula last night at 9pm.
Police have not yet released information but it is believed he was involved in a drug deal.
Onlookers say they heard the assassin shout out “I’m going to finish him off”.
The police are looking for three gunmen.
According to local newspaper reports, the execution-style killing has led the authorities to investigate the death as part of a gang warfare raging in the southern suburbs of Athens.
Macris’ 82-year-old father, Stelios, a former singer, was the first to arrive at the scene of the crime, asking: “What’s happened to my son? Please tell me he’s not dead?”

Macris’s death has left both his Greek and Australian connections stunned.
He reportedly collapsed as he was blasted in the chest with what police believe to be a 9mm pistol.
The father of one was also allegedly known to Greek police for drugs issues.
For the last seven years, Macris has lived in Athens with former playboy model girlfriend Viktoria Karida, with whom he shares a young daughter Alexandra.
A sworn enemy of the Ibrahim family, Macris clashed with Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim after they fell out in 2007.
Two years later he was blamed for the near-fatal shooting of John’s brother Fadi Ibrahim.
Fadi and Michael Ibrahim were accused of plotting to kill Macris in revenge for Fadi’s shooting but were later cleared.
In 2010, former partners Ibrahim and Macris had a public brawl in Mykonos, were they found themselves in neighbouring tables at the VIP section of a popular seaside nightspot.
A warrant for Macris’ arrest was issued in 2013, stating he would be arrested as soon as he set foot in Australia, after he had failed to show up for sentencing for driving while disqualified until September 2018.
Since relocating in Athens, Macris was a partner in My Services, a company offering private security, but also hospitality and cleaning staff.
There is no suggestion the Ibrahim family is linked to Macri’s fatal shooting
Law enforcement officers and the Australian underworld previously linked Macris to the Commancheros.
He is the son of Stelios Macris, who was charged in 2011 with possessing 50kg of amphetamine oil — enough to make $12.5 million worth of the drug ice — and released on $2.1 million bail.
His brother Alex Macris lives in Athens with his billionaire chicken heiress wife Jessica Ingham, from whom, he recently split.
In 2014 Macris confessed in court to using his father Stelios, 75, as an unsuspecting drug mule to transport $13 million or 50 kilograms of methamphetamine oil — enough to make $12.5 million worth of the drug ice — in the back of a Ford Falcon station wagon.
He admitted it was a “low, dog act” to get his father involved but never thought police would have pulled the elderly man over.
His brother Alex Macris lives in Athens with his billionaire chicken heiress wife Jessica Ingham, from whom, he recently split.
He dated Sweaty Betty owner Roxy Jacenko.
