Leah Patricia Woolley will be eligible for parole today for her part in the hours-long crime spree across Southport on August 16 last year.

The 27-year-old pleaded guilty in the Southport District Court today to seven charges including armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, stealing and assault occasioning bodily harm.

The court was told Woolley met Jaimie Madden, the son of right-wing political activist Kim Vuga, on the day of the robberies and got into a taxi with him in Southport.

Crown prosecutor Gary Churchill said Woolley did not know Madden had a gun when he pulled out a replica pistol and threatened the cab driver.

From there the pair went to a service station and demanded cash.

“She assisted greatly in the first robbery by ensuring the money itself was in fact taken while Madden subdued the crowd,” Mr Churchill said.

The pair stole a car and, when that was not running smoothly, dumped it at a nearby service station.

“Madden went to steal a car from a lady with children but Woolley, concerned about the children, directed him to another car,” Mr Churchill said.

When in the car, Woolley asked Madden to slow down. He refused, saying she could get out when he slowed down at the corner.

She jumped out while the car was still moving.
