A GOLD Coast woman allegedly took her former partner’s CCTV cameras and then fired a shotgun at him in a late night attack outside his home, a court has been told.

Katie Lee Holmes denies she ever had a shot gun but police claim the matter was caught on a neighbour’s security cameras.

The Pimpama woman was in isolation due to suspected coronavirus in the Southport Watchhouse when her matter was heard in the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday.

She has been charged with dangerous conduct with a weapon, going armed to cause fear, receiving tainted property and stealing.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Dave Shelton said Holmes had called her former partner on June 4 asking for her property back.

He said about 1am on June 5 the man received a notification that a motion sensor outside his home was set off.

The court was told the man watched as Holmes removed two CCTV cameras from the front of his home.

It is alleged Holmes left and soon came back, approached his home and the pair got into a verbal argument.

“She reached into the vehicle, removed a shotgun and pointed it towards the aggrieved and discharged it,” Sen Const Shelton said.

It is alleged a neighbour heard the shot.

Sen Const Shelton said the incident was captured on nearby CCTV.

“The footage is grainy but I have been advised the footage clearly depicts a flash of light which the prosecution alleges to be a muzzle flash of the firearm,” he said.

The court was told the woman was found the next day with shot gun shells in her car.

She was not charged over the alleged shooting until Saturday.

Defence lawyer David Carlin, of Legal Aid Queensland, said the allegation regarding the shooting was a “complete fabrication”.

“The shot gun has never been found,” he said.

Mr Carline also questioned why it took so long for police to press charges in relation to such a serious matter.

Magistrate Michelle Dooley denied bail due to concerns about the man’s safety.

The matter was adjourned to Friday.
