A SUPERCARS Pit Reporter has said there is “absolutely no excuse” after a driver swerved to hit her Supercars star husband while the pair were on a morning jog.
Riana Crehan took to Twitter alleging a white van swerved at her husband Will Davison while the pair were running in the bike lane on Hope Island Rd just before 8am.
She told the Bulletin the incident had left her feeling “frustrated” and “angry”.
“There’s plenty of space in the bike path, we weren’t on the road whatsoever,” she said.
“This driver, I don’t know why, I don’t know what he was thinking, but there was definitely an intentional swerve towards Will.
“I was a couple meters behind (Will). He clipped Will and Will lost his footing and had to actually put his hands on the van to brace himself.

“The van took off and continued on down the road, so unfortunately we didn’t get his numberplate which is frustrating, we can’t make any formal complaint or anything like that.
“But there’s absolutely no excuse for anything like that.”
She confirmed both had escaped injury.
“We’re fine, but that’s not so much the point in this situation,” she said.
“It’s totally inexcusable.
“We’re very active in our community, we run in all sorts of areas on the Gold Coast. We have a regular running group that meets in various locations around the Coast.
“You should be able to feel safe when you’re running on a footpath or on the road. I don’t think you should ever encounter situations like this.”
The Bulletin has contacted Queensland Police regarding the incident.
