POLICE are searching for two people after an alleged wounding incident on the Gold Coast this morning.
Emergency services were called around 11.15am after reports a 28-year-old man sustained a neck laceration after an altercation at a private residence on Marybeth Cresent in Molendinar.
The 28-year-old is said to have allegedly answered the door to a man and woman before they entered and assaulted him inside his home, leaving him with a significant wound to his upper right neck area.
Officers believe the pair may be known to the 28-year-old, who were asking for him by name as they arrived.
After the assault, the pair fled the scene in a stolen white Volkswagen Tiguan with the registration 936ZGX.
Paramedics transported the man to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A Queensland Police spokesman said a manhunt is underway to find the male and female allegedly involved, despite the 28-year-old man withdrawing his complaint.
Queensland Police urged if anyone witnessed the incident or anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
