Gold Coast crime: Police investigate four break and enters

Police are on the hunt for three men after an overnight crime spree targeting in-demand items.

POLICE are on the hunt for three men who broke into two bottle shops and a chemist on the Gold Coast last night.

The crime spree began at 11.50pm when a stolen car was reversed into the glass doors of a bottle shop at Ware Drive in Currumbin Waters. Alcohol was stolen by the three men before they returned to the car and drove off.

Half an hour later the trio also stole alcohol from a bottle shop at Mudgeeraba Road in Worongary after again using the stolen car to smash in doors.

At 1.40am the men struck again, smashing the doors of a chemist at Marble Arch Place in Arundel before stealing goods.

A stolen grey Holden Captiva police believe was used in the break-ins was abandoned and set on fire at Babbler Court in Burleigh Waters around 4.25am.

Police investigating a robbery at a Bundall electrical store overnight also believe that incident may be related.
