POLICE are investigating after a serious traffic incident on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon, leaving a man hospitalised in a critical condition.
Emergency services were called around 11.45am following reports a 34-year-old man was allegedly hit by a truck on the M1 near the Tallebudgera Creek bridge pass.
Preliminary investigations suggest the man was travelling northbound on the M1, crashed into a side barrier and was struck by a truck when he exited his car.
Paramedics transported him to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

Motorists heading northbound on the highway experienced significant delays, traffic was diverted at exit 95.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing.
Police urged witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
