POLICE rocked up to Dylan Joshua Clarke’s house after he was stabbed during a violent home invasion.
By the time they had finished at the crime scene they had charged the 28-year-old with fireworks and cannabis offences.
Clarke was rushed to hospital on February 2 this year after he was knifed at his Upper Coomera home.
Police later found seven boxes of fireworks and cannabis his bedroom.
No one has been charged over the home invasion and a police spokesman said no complaint had been made.
Clarke pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to authority required to possess explosives, possessing a dangerous drug and possessing a utensil related to drugs.
Magistrate Kay Philipson fined Clarke $1500.
“I accept that these offences didn’t come to light because of any search warrant being conducted but rather an investigation of a home invasion,” she said.
‘There was a significant amount of cannabis found.”
Magistrate Philipson recorded a conviction, noting it was the fifth time Clarke had been before the court for drug-related offences.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Reece Foort said 360g of cannabis was found in the bedroom along with the seven boxes of fireworks.
Defence lawyer Joe Wicking, of Howden Saggers Lawyers, said the circumstances of the offending was “unusual”.
He said Clarke used cannabis to deal with an injury from a car crash.
