Conman Peter Foster’s parting words for Cairns

Serial conman Peter Foster has made a bizarre exit from Cairns in police custody following his beachside Port Douglas arrest over an alleged sports betting scam.

Peter Foster extradited from Cairns to Sydney

CONMAN Peter Foster is on route from Cairns to Sydney in police custody four days after his beachside arrest in Port Douglas over an alleged sports betting scam.

Still wearing the Hawaiian shirt he was arrested in last Thursday, Foster, 57, was led from an unmarked police vehicle by Cairns and New South Wales detectives into the Cairns Domestic Airport terminal.

He was asked by a media pack what he wished to say about his arrest, then proceeded to make unfounded claims against Ken Gamble, the private investigator who tracked him down in Port and liaised with NSW police during the investigation.

Foster is set to face multiple charges once he arrives in Sydney amid allegations he fleeced “millions of dollars from investors” through an online sports trading operation Sport Predictions, while working under an alias.

He had allegedly been staying in Port Douglas for the past few weeks under another false name – Bill Duffy.

Foster was also asked about the welfare of his two dogs who were with him during his dramatic beachside arrest.

“They’re great,” he said.

“That’s the most beautiful question any journalist has ever asked me.”

Foster also claimed he had been due to have lunch with a southern-based journalist today after alleging it was Mr Gamble who had left clients out of pocket.

Mr Gamble is not accused of any wrongdoing.
