A man has been charged by police following an alleged disturbance at a Burleigh Heads park.
A Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said officers were called to Memorial Park off the Gold Coast Highway about 8.50am on Monday to reports of two men allegedly armed with knives.
“Upon arrival, police located three male suspects. They were detained and searched,” the QPS spokesman said.
“It will be alleged that police located a Stanley knife, a hammer and a wooden bat.”
A 44-year-old man was taken into custody by officers and has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place or a school.
He was released from custody and issued with a notice to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on December 12.
