Toyota Corolla rolls down embankment and allegedly dumped near M1, Upper Coomera

A car has rolled on to its roof near a major Gold Coast road with its occupants nowhere to be found. Why police want to speak to the driver.

Police are searching for the driver of a white hatchback that was found lying on its roof down an embankment at Upper Coomera.

The single vehicle crash occurred near the M1 off-ramp and was reported to emergency service about 8.30pm on Monday, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.

Officers attended and found the Toyota Corolla lying on its roof in a stretch of bushland adjacent to the motorway.

The occupants of the car had left the scene before police arrived.

Initial inquiries have revealed the Toyota is a hire car and officers are attempting to track down the driver involved, the QPS spokesman said.
