Teenager rushed to hospital in serious condition and crime scene established following bashing

A teenager has been rushed to a Gold Coast hospital with serious head injuries following an alleged violent bashing overnight. Read how it happened

A teenager has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition following an alleged violent bashing on the northern Gold Coast overnight.

Police and paramedics raced to Coachella Crescent in Upper Coomera just after 8pm on Tuesday where a 17-year-old boy was found with head injuries.

The teenager was raced to Gold Coast University Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) established a crime scene at the address overnight.

Officers remained there throughout the evening speaking with witnesses. Forensics have also attended and collected evidence.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said early indications suggested the offenders were known to the victim and had arranged to meet up prior to the incident.

Police are still searching for those believed to have been involved in an altercation.

No charges have been laid.

Police are asking witnesses or anyone in the vicinity with CCTV to come forward as investigation continue.
