THE RSPCA is hunting for three men who hurled a cat through the air into a brick wall in a shocking case of animal cruelty.
Video which was sent to media outlets show a man hurl the cat over a fence, sending it smashing into the brick wall of a neighbouring house.
The unremorseful trio are then seen on the video laughing.
The RSPCA believes the shocking act happened in Queensland but has been unable to contact the person who sent the video.
“The person who sent it said they were from the Ipswich area but we have been unable to confirm this — the video could have been taken anywhere in Queensland or indeed interstate,” said RSPCA Qld spokesperson Michael Beatty.
“However someone will recognise the person in the video and we urge them to come forward.”
Initially the RSPCA didn’t want the video leaked to the media, but they are now desperate for answers.
“In cases like this, once something has been all over social media, they will cop a lot of abuse — so when they get to court the magistrate believes that they have already been shamed enough.”
Mr Beatty said he could not understand why someone would hurt a defenceless animal.
“It’s bad enough it was thrown over the fence, but he purposely threw the cat straight into the wall.”
