Richard Moore: Gold Coast psychologist charged with high-range drink-driving

Police allege the man, who is aged in his forties and owns his own clinic, drove while in excess of 0.15 per cent blood-alcohol content in Oxenford last month. Here’s what happened in court.

A Gold Coast psychologist has been charged with high-range drink driving.

Gaven man Richard Moore, 44, who owns and operates Southport clinic PSYCoaching, appeared in Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday for the first mention of a charge of driving under the influence of liquor.

According to court documents, police allege Mr Moore was nabbed on April 26 at Oxenford while driving with a blood-alcohol content of greater than 0.15 per cent.

No details of the alleged offending were read onto the public record at this stage of the proceedings.

Mr Moore has not entered a plea.

His defence lawyer requested an adjournment to allow for the parties to send submissions to one another.

The charge will next be before the court on June 26.

According to his website, Mr Moore has more than 15 years’ experience as a registered psychologist.

He is also an International Coaching Federation-accredited life coach.

According to corporate records, he established the PSYCoaching brand in early 2014.

He has been a registered psychologist since October 2010, according to health practitioner regulator AHPRA.
