A major manhunt is underway after a driver fled the scene of an alleged hit and run where two teens were collected by a car while riding an e-scooter.

At 8.30pm on Sunday, police allege a silver Mercedes was speeding and driving erratically near the corner of Benowa Rd and Lambros Drive before hitting two teenagers on an e-scooter.

A male and female, both 16-years-old, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

Police say the driver fled the scene without stopping to help the injured teens.

The vehicle would have sustained significant left-side panel damage including missing a mirror.

Police have asked witnesses, especially those with CCTV or relevant dashcam vision to come forward via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Policelink on 131 444.

Reports can also be made online.
