Police are on the hunt for a pair of balaclava wearing thieves wanted over Southport thefts

Two masked thugs running amok in stolen cars across the Gold Coast, have struck again overnight, swiping a BMW from a busy Southport petrol station.
The pair were captured on CCTV pulling up at the business on Ferry Road just before 8pm on Sunday, one of the thieves hops out of the vehicle, their face covered with what appears be a balaclava.
A customer is crouched down at the side of his BMW putting air in the tyres as the offender enters his car, before the victim is alerted to the intruder, his car is already reversing down the drive.
The thief sped off Northbound on Ferry Road with the getaway vehicle following closely behind.
No one was injured during the incident.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman says the car was found 12 kilometre away at Paradise Point around 9am on Monday. It was abandoned in the carpark on Jabiru Island, the windows had been smashed.
It has been towed and will undergo forensic testing.
The getaway vehicle, a light blue Hyundai hatchback is still missing. It was stolen an hour prior to the BMW incident from Marine Parade in Southport.
Anyone that spots the vehicle with registration plates BZP-87X is urged to contact police immediately.
Officers are also investigating another two vehicle thefts in Robina on Sunday afternoon. About 3.30pm a Honda HRV registration 888-DQ5 was stolen from outside a gym on Robina Town Centre Drive, while the owner was inside. Around the same time, and only a kilometre down the road a Black Renault Laguna registration 757-LYC was stolen from the carpark at Robina Town Centre. Police are appealing for dashcam footage and witnesses.
