Police execute search warrant at Coomera home

A Gold Coast mother has claimed she forgot to show up to court after a police search of her home allegedly found more than a kilo of MDMA tablets and “actively cooking” cannabis oil.

Taylor-Leigh Parsons, 33, faced Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with 33 offences including the alleged large-scale drug possession.

She had been arrested last October following a police search at the Coomera property where she had been living.

Police allegedly located Parsons with more than a kilo of MDMA tablets, along with THC oil which was “actively cooking”.

She is further alleged to have possessed quantities of cannabis, methylamphetamine, and instructions for producing THC gummies.

At the time, a police spokesman said the warrant had been executed following community intelligence suggesting that the address was involved in the sale of dangerous drugs.

Parsons was charged at the time with possessing a phone which had been used for the offence of drug supply – but she is not charged with supplying drugs herself.

She has since been charged with offences including driving with drugs in her system, possessing counterfeit money, and stealing.

Magistrate Aaron Simpson questioned Parsons at her court mention on Thursday about a warrant on her file resulting from alleged failure to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on March 27, 2025.

“The magistrate noted that there was no correspondence at all and you were not there, so the warrant was issued for your arrest,” he said.

Parsons said she was “very very sorry” and was “really bad at remembering stuff” due to a neurodevelopmental disorder.

“I won’t finalise that aspect today madam but you really need to speak to your lawyers and sort that out,” Mr Simpson replied.

Duty lawyer Ollie Labone said Parson’s Legal Aid application was in the process of being finalised, and that Parsons had engaged Caboolture firm Stewart Burr and Mayr Lawyers.

Mr Simpson said he would keep Parson’s matters in the same court until the funds were finalised.

“That promise of getting a lawyer has been made a number of times and hasn’t eventuated,” he said.

Mr Simpson vacated Parson’s warrant and adjourned her charges to June 26 at Brisbane Magistrates Court.

She is required to appear on that date unless represented by a lawyer.

Her bail conditions stipulate that she must live at an address in Deception Bay, report to police twice a week, and not go to Westfield Garden City – which is the alleged offence location for her charges of stealing and possessing counterfeit money.

Parsons is charged with 33 offences including five counts of possessing dangerous drugs, four counts of possessing utensils or pipes, three counts of possessing counterfeit money, three counts of breaching bail, and two counts each of fraud, receiving tainted property, driving with a relevant drug in her saliva, and driving without a licence.

She is additionally charged with one count each of possessing more than a schedule 4 quantity of MDMA, possessing instructions for producing dangerous drugs, producing dangerous drugs (THC), possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, unlawful possession of weapons (capsicum spray), mail theft, possessing a knife in a public place, stealing (shorts from Rebel Sport), uttering counterfeit money, and failing to appear.
