A high-powered sports car worth about half-a-million dollars has slammed into a wall at speed on the Gold Coast.
The yellow McLaren was travelling along Hope Island Rd just before lunchtime on Thursday when it left the roadway resulting in the wild and messy crash.
Pictures of the aftermath show the sport sedan has wiped out a street sign, ploughing into a brick wall at Hope Island Resort and causing a large section to collapse.
The car came to rest on the side of the road.
The front end of the vehicle, which can cost up to $700K, has been completely destroyed with the airbags also deployed.
No one was injured in the crash.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said officers were still completing a report into the incident and it was not known whether anyone was being questioned or what caused it.
