The man sustained a significant head injury after he was hit by a Nissan Micra travelling along Marine Pde at Biggera Waters on Monday morning.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the man was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, though a critical care paramedic was on board and the man had suffered a significant injury.

Emergency services were called to the crash at 10.52am, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.

He said the road was reopened by 11.45am.

The crash came just hours after a man in his 40s was hit by a car in the carpark of Helensvale Plaza.

A QPS spokesman said the man was hit in the back of the leg while moving a trolley.
