Police are appealing for help to find a middle aged man they allege was responsible for the audacious theft of a large Christmas reindeer display.
In a plot worthy of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, police say the man walked into the Runaway Bay Shopping Centre at about 4pm on Sunday December 10 wearing a high vis vest and pushing a trolley.
He then allegedly loaded onto the trolley the large light-up reindeer, which was the centrepiece of a display within the centre.
Police say the man then walked past shoppers and out the door with the display, before putting the reindeer into the back of a white ute and taking off.

Police are seeking to speak to this man who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigations into the alleged theft of an electric bike from outside a business on Griffith Street in Coolangatta on Monday, December 11.
Police allege the man pictured above walked onto Griffith Street, stole the electric bike, and then turned into McDonald Street and rode the bike onto Marine Parade travelling west.

Police are looking to speak to the woman pictured above about an alleged stealing incident in Surfers Paradise.
Officers allege that shortly after 9am on Sunday December 3, the woman entered a store wanting to try on a pair of sneakers and requested for the staff member to go out the back to look for another pair. Police say that in the absence of the team member, the woman allegedly left the store with a pair of shoes.
