A Gold Coast man accused of murdering his elderly landlord has been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court.
Jason Thomas King faces one charge of murder in relation to the death of Susan Walker, 74, last year.
It is alleged Ms Walker was found at her Molendinar home with significant head injuries on the evening of March 20.
Mr King was renting a room from Ms Walker at the time.
The 51-year-old – who is currently in custody at Borallon Training and Correctional Centre – appeared in Southport Magistrates Court via videolink for his brief committal proceedings on Wednesday morning.
He said only, “No, Your Honour,” when asked by magistrate Jane Bentley whether he wished to say anything in answer to the charge or enter a plea.
Mr King was remanded in custody, with an indictment to be presented in the Supreme Court in the coming months.
