A group of fishermen have been left horrified after discovering a dead woman’s body in a Gold Coast waterway.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said at around 7:30am on Sunday, a body was recovered approximately 1km north of the Gold Coast Seaway in the Broadwater.
The person has been identified as a 39-year-old woman from Paradise Point.
Gold Coast District Police Superintendent Rhys Wildman told the ABC on Monday morning: “Other fishermen who were out in the water observed a woman floating in the water face down.”
Water police immediately attended the scene.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and Queensland Police say a report is being prepared for the coroner.
