A man has been hit with a raft of charges after an alleged incident at Burleigh Heads on Saturday that ended with him being shot by police.
Burleigh Heads man Dean Thomas Bostock, 33, is accused of assaulting police during the alleged incident, which occurred at a Gardenia Grove property about 7.30pm Saturday.
Police were called to the scene after receiving a report of a man allegedly making threats and, following a confrontation with officers, was shot in the leg.
He was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital by the Queensland Ambulance Service with non-life-threatening injuries.
Mr Bostock has been charged with two counts of serious assault of a police officer while armed with a weapon, and one count each of going armed so as to cause fear, common assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possessing a dangerous drug, producing a dangerous drug, and possessing a drug utensil.
His charges were mentioned briefly in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
Mr Bostock made no application for bail.
His charges were adjourned to Friday.
The police response to the incident is being investigated by Ethical Standards Command, with the investigation itself overseen by the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC).
