Police have charged a driver allegedly involved in a hit and run at a Gold Coast unit block that left a man pinned between a vehicle and a concrete pillar.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the grey Volkswagen Golf was allegedly driven dangerously towards a man in the underground carpark along High Street, Southport on July 26.
CCTV captured of the incident shows the vehicle travelling at speed before it ploughs into a 31-year-old man, trapping him and badly damaging two motorcycles.
The victim was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with a serious leg injury as well as bruising and abrasions to his face.
It’s alleged the driver ran off from the scene.
Following a public appeal, a QPS spokesman said a 21-year-old Ellen Grove man had been charged with two counts of wilful damage and one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm.
He was due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
