IT’S finally here — the day bargain hunters have been waiting for and it is madness out there, so prepare to line up, jostle and play dirty.

Retailers have been waiting for Boxing Day sales to boost sales and they won’t be disappointed thousands have lined up across the Gold Coast — some from 5am this morning — ready to bag a bargain.

It is pandemonium at all major shopping centres across the Gold Coast, with Robina Town Centre and Pacific Fair reportedly the craziest.

Shoppers are shoulder-to-shoulder inside the centres and don’t even think about getting a car park without spending at least half an hour queuing or stalking leaving shoppers.

Amanda Ptak-Zylka, 23, said she was expecting a chaotic morning.

“Last year was so crazy you could barely move, so I’ve arrived early this year to get in first because the clothes go so quickly,” she said.

The Pacific Pines student, who hits the retailer each Boxing Day, said last year security had to be called to escort two people in and out of the store at a time.

“The line is huge at the moment so I have no doubt security will probably have to get called again.”

But the main attraction was Myer, where a massive crowded stormed the department store when its doors opened at 9am.

All roads leading into Robina Town Centre are heavily congested, including northbound on the M1.

Traffic controllers are trying to put more order into car park chaos but shoppers have reported it is taking up to and longer than 10 minutes to even get into a shopping centre car park.

Wannabe-bargain hunters are lucky to nab a park with up to 10 motorists at a time stalking leaving shoppers at they head back to their cars.

Overflow parking walking distance to Robina Town Centre is already near capacity.

Parking at other major stores including Pacific Fair, Australia Fair, Harbour Town, Westfield Helensvale and Runaway Bay Shopping Village is just as chaotic and shoppers are asked to take is easy and practice patience.
