Michelle Liu's "chinning" travel photos are legendary.

IN A world full of perfectly curated, expertly filtered moments, this woman’s social media account is a breath of fresh air.

Let’s be honest, nobody really likes the highly edited versions of reality littering our social media feeds. At best, we know it is unrealistic, and at worst, it makes us feel terrible about our own lives.

Enter Michelle Liu. She’s the travel Instagrammer whose pictures will inspire you to see the world, but will also make you laugh with her ridiculous poses and punny captions. Ms Liu’s photos might contain the least annoying travel photos you’ll find on social media.

The account, chinventures, documents the 21-year-old’s escapades as she “chins” her way across the globe.

And by “chinning”, she means she takes a selfie from a universally unflattering angle in front of various landmarks around the world.

“I haven’t chinned everywhere, but it’s on my list,” her Instagram account profile reads.

She launched the account when studying abroad in Vienna in September 2016 but in an interview with Mic, she said she has been chinning for years.

“My chinning entertained my friends all through middle school, high school and college, at which point I decided to share my chin with the world,” she told the publication.

It started as a way for her to fight the pressure to look at certain way in her teenage years.

She told Mic she saw the value in “looking silly” in order to combat insecurity and to feel comfortable in her own skin.

But now, in the age of Instagram, Ms Liu’s chinning is the social media hero account we all need.

She has so far chinned her way through Europe and the US, including Paris, London, Brooklyn, Beijing, Prague, Amsterdam and Boston.

And it isn’t just her hilarious pose which is gaining her a following. It’s her witty captions that accompany them.

Michelle Liu, never change.
