Man goes on frightening rampage in Melbourne Starbucks

A man has been filmed using a chair to violently attack a Starbucks counter in Melbourne’s CBD.

The moment a man used a chair to smash a Starbucks counter in Melbourne’s CBD has been caught in a frightening video posted to social media.

The man could be seen lifting the chair above his head and bringing it down on the glass cabinet with such force the chair broke.

A frightened customer standing nearby rushed away as he smashed the chair down again.

The video at Starbucks Elizabeth Street was posted to TikTok on Saturday and been viewed more than 750,000 times.

Many Melburnians commented saying the video reflected the current state of the CBD.

“Elizabeth Street is a mess. If they want people back in the CBD they need to work on making it clean and safe,” one person wrote, gaining thousands of likes in support.

“Been here for almost a month and every time I ride trains you always encounter ppl [people] with red bulging eyes any time of the day,” claimed another.

Some said the CBD was “out of control”, while others suggested the whole world had issues.

“All that for coffee, the world needs a total reset,” wrote one person.

Viewers couldn’t believe the glass cabinet did not smash despite repeated hits.

“Dang whoever designed that glass should use this as advertisement,” one comment read with almost 3000 likes.

Some people – including foreigners – expressed that they were shocked the video was Australia and not America.

news.com.au has contacted Victoria Police and Starbucks for comment.
