A TV presenter and YouTube star has been killed in the UK’s first fatal electric scooter crash.

Emily Hartridge died on Friday morning after her electric scooter collided with a truck less than 800m from her home in Battersea, South London, The Sun reports.

The 35-year-old had fronted Channel 4 program ‘S***, I’m 30’ and a host of online shows.

Emily had also built up a huge social media following with more than 340,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel.

Just four months ago, she spoke to The Sun about her decision to freeze her eggs and her hopes of becoming a mum.

A statement on her Instagram page said: “Hi everyone. This is a horrible thing to have to say over Instagram but we know many of you were expecting to see Emily today and this is the only way to contact you all at once.

“Emily was involved in an accident yesterday and passed away. We all loved her to bits and she will never be forgotten.

“She has touched so many lives it’s hard to imagine things without her. She was a very special person xxx.”

Emily built up a huge following with her health and lifestyle advice and campaigning on mental health.

In her final YouTube post just four days before her death she uploaded a video about her “wonderful” relationship with boyfriend Jake Hazell, 27.

Fans and fellow celebrities paid tribute to Emily on social media.

Emily was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision just after 8.30am on Friday.

Police are appealing for information about the crash and have asked anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

In 2016, Emily filmed a program for UK channel All 4 in which she hosted her own funeral after having a ‘quarter life crisis’.

She said at the time: “I do feel like I live life in a lot of fear, I wish I could handle stress a lot better. I really want to be one of those positive people, but I’m just really pessimistic.”

In 2012, the presenter was romantically linked to Russell Brand after an interview in which he was filmed licking cake off her arm.

The crash is believed to be the first fatal collision involving an electric scooter in the UK.

There have been no arrests in connection with the investigation.
