As we approach the run home to finals, the cream of the crop is set to rise and it is over the next month and a half where the stars of local footy shine brightest.
From Ballina to Ormeau and everywhere in between, we have shone a light on all the Gold Coast QFA women’s stars who have made their mark this year and will hold the key in the final stretch.
See who has starred from your club below in the QFA Division 1 and QFA Division 2 South competitions.
Billi Hutton (Tweed Coast)
Hutton has been in fine form in the ruck this year and has used her athletic ability to make an impact across the ground.
She has elite aerial skills and is one of the leading intercepting markers in the competition.
Maddie Campbell (Tweed Coast)
Campbell is a classy midfielder with sharp ball skills and is a dangerous weapon in attack.
The Suns Academy gun has been a force to be reckoned with during her time with Tweed Coast, kicking five goals and earning four best player nominations in just five clashes this season.
Alannah McNally (Tweed Coast)
McNally is a strong all-round athlete who is a reliable performer week-in week-out.
She has the agility to navigate her way through the contest and her power makes her a threat in attack and defence.
Amy Fulton (Tweed Coast)
Fulton is a tough as nails midfielder with clean ball skills.
Jess Brown (Tweed Coast)
Brown is a strong athlete who can lock down opposing stars with her defensive work.
She has an incredible aerobic motor and can run all day.
Brooke Sheard (Tweed Coast)
One of the focal points in attack, the centre half forward brings quick speed and is a smart ball user.
Molly Ritson (Broadbeach)
The former Gold Coast Sun has starred in the midfield for the Cats this season.
Her defensive work in the middle of the ground has been a catalyst for their solid start to the year which sees them sitting third in the Division 1 competition.
Her elite level experience has been invaluable and has lifted the rest of the team with her.
Demi Leach (Broadbeach)
One of the go-to players for Broadbeach in the midfield who makes her mark in attack and defence.
She has earned five best player nominations in eight games and kicked one goal.
Alexis Smyth (Broadbeach)
An exciting young gun who has taken her game to the next level in 2025.
The teenager is a lightning quick winger who is strong on both sides of the ball and is an x-factor for the Cats.
Halle Cunningham (Broadbeach)
A strong defender who is an exciting athlete and brings a spark to the backline.
Cunningham’s combination of rapid pace and aggression makes her one of the dominant defenders in the region.
Alice Minahan (Broadbeach)
A strong full forward who is capable of putting in a game-winning performance on her own.
She has kicked three or more goals on three occasions this season with her best performance against Palm Beach Currumbin where she kicked five majors.
Minahan is strong in the air and applies strong defensive pressure in the forward line.
Chelsea Lee (Broadbeach)
A tough small forward who provides strong defensive pressure alongside Minahan.
Lee is one of the most reliable forwards in the competition as she has booted nine goals in four games.
Jess Maher (Surfers Paradise)
The deputy vice-captain is as reliable as they come and makes her impact felt almost every time she steps onto the field.
In 10 games she has kicked three goals and earned six best player nominations.
She is an elite talent in the midfield who is a great user of the footer and has a lethal left boot.
Maher is one of the leading clearance players in the side and generates several opportunities for her teammates in the forward line.
Paris Couzijn (Surfers Paradise)
A force to be reckoned with on the defensive end who battles hard every game she plays.
She runs with the ball a lot and can take the game on.
Sky Howells (Surfers Paradise)
A young gun who has come up from the under-17s and made her impact felt at senior level.
Howells has formed a strong partnership with De Maria and Couzijn in defence.
Emily De Maria (Surfers Paradise)
The Demons captain has led the way with strong leadership on and off the field.
Around the contest, she battles hard through the midfield and backline.
Tara Nieass and Ellie Da Ros (Surfers Paradise)
The young guns have stepped up at senior level in recent weeks and have not looked out of place.
The duo are members of the Suns Academy and have gone from strength to strength with the Demons.
Zali Pullinger (Surfers Paradise)
A former premiership player who has returned to Surfers Paradise and provided a strong threat in the forward line since her return this month.
Olivia Creswick (Ballina)
A new addition for the Bombers in 2025, Creswick joined with an elite rugby union background and has been a force to be reckoned with this year.
Creswick has mainly played at halfback and has great defensive vision to force turnovers and create counter-attacks.
“She doesn’t have the most orthodox kick, but she can certainly hoof a ball a long way,” Ballina coach Josh Stainley said.
Caitlin Garlick (Ballina)
A newcomer to the sport who is an elite athlete on the wing.
Garlick is an ultra-marathon runner and her fitness has allowed her to thrive and continuously make an impact for Ballina.
Jessie Baumer (Ballina)
An elite forward who brings NTFL experience, Baumer has hit the ground running in 2025 with six goals in five games.
She is as reliable as they come and brings a strong game IQ.
Elizabeth Perry (Ballina)
Perry only took up the sport for the first time last year but has an excellent attitude and lifts the team around her.
She is devoted to improving each week and was named captain this year thanks to the way she embodies the team spirit.
Melissa Adams (Byron Bay)
Adams joined the club from Broadbeach this season and has been a fantastic addition to the Magpies.
She is a powerful player and aggressive around the contest in the midfield.
Adams has stepped up as a vocal leader and rallies the troops as deputy vice-captain
Jess Yarrow (Byron Bay)
The vice-captain has gone from strength to strength in the midfield and formed a dynamic duo alongside Adams around the contest.
She is a hard-running, quick, strong, brave player who can turn a contest around on her own.
Jessica Connelly (Byron Bay)
A new addition to the team, Connelly has a boxing background and is a strong athletic presence in the backline.
She dominates the aerial contests pulling off several spoils per game and can read the game and always knows where to position herself to pull off an intercept.
Lillian Hutchings (Byron Bay)
Hutchings won the league best and fairest last year and only recently returned to the side due to a foot injury earlier in the year.
However, she has not missed a beat and been in elite form since her return.
Maddy Jensen (Byron Bay)
Jensen started the year at fullback but moved to her preferred full-forward position recently and has thrived in attack.
She kicked two goals and earned a best player nomination in her side’s clash with Ormeau in round 5.
Lauren Lowe and Grace Purnell (Byron Bay)
A pair of international recruits who have rapidly adapted to Australian football and do not look out of place on the field.
The British guns both joined with a rugby union background with Purnell a strong, powerful aggressive player, while Lowe is rapid and smart.
Xena Campbell (Byron Bay)
Campbell has taken the helm as captain this year and always leads from the front.
She is a brave and athletic player who gives her all for the team.
Ruby Wallen and Ravi van Summeren (Byron Bay)
The duo have improved immensely in 2025 both in a skill and game IQ sense.
The pair have developed their understanding of the game and how to play their role for the team to perfection.
Maci Polley (Burleigh)
Polley has just gone down with a season-ending ankle injury but was in sensational form before the setback.
She played in the middle and dominated every time she stepped on the field, earning four best player mentions in five games.
Charlotte Durbridge (Burleigh)
The captain has been in fine form throughout the first half of the season and always leads from the front.
She has chipped in with three goals in six games and is always one of the standout players on the field.
Rachael Jackson (Burleigh)
A versatile talent who can make her mark almost anywhere on the field.
Whether it is across halfback, in the middle or in the forward line, Jackson has become a crucial player in the Bombers’ quest to defend their title.
Katie MacDougall (Burleigh)
MacDougall has been rock-solid in defence and is one of the leaders within the Bombers ranks.
She has spearheaded the Burleigh defence and is a major reason why the side has conceded just 34 points this season.
India Honey (Burleigh)
Another member of the dominant backline.
Honey has been in excellent form as one of the key defenders.
Jule Wieckhorst (Burleigh)
She has taken her game to a whole new level off the back of an outstanding pre-season.
Standing a 6’2, Wieckhorst is a dynamic ruck rover who dominates in the air and at ground level.
Jessica Evans (Burleigh)
The vice-captain never plays a bad game and is an exciting.
She can play in the ruck but also loves to move forward and kick goals.
Tara Park (Burleigh)
A stalwart of the Burleigh women’s side, Park returned this season with a bang and has kicked eight goals in just three games.
She has previously won the league best and fairest and leading goalkicker and has provided a major boost to the squad in her first games since 2022.
Chloe Morgan (Ormeau)
Morgan is a tenacious competitor who is known for her fierce tackling pressure, strong hands and ability to turn intercept marks into momentum-shifting plays.
She is brave in and around the contest and leads by example at ground level.
Caitlin Davies (Ormeau)
Davies is the engine room of the midfield and relentlessly chases the hard ball gets and never backs down from a tagging role.
She brings incredible grit and toughness every time she takes to the field.
Sharna McClure (Ormeau)
McClure is the on-field general who directs traffic with poise and as an incredible game IQ.
She has an exceptional ability to read the play before it happens and is a natural leader.
Like Davies and Morgan, McClure leads by example around the contest as she thrives in clearing the ball from congestion and inspiring those around her.
Montana Williams (Robina Mudgeeraba)
Williams is a game-changer who can impact the game anywhere on the field.
She brings incredible strength in the air and often comes up clutch with match-winning plays.
Kaycee Richards (Robina Mudgeeraba)
Richards brings elite football IQ and is always two steps ahead of everyone else on the field.
Along with her incredible vision to read the play, she is also a strong ball user and can pick out a teammate with ease.
Laikyn Dove (Robina Mudgeeraba)
Dove has made the move from the ruck to defence and has continued to dominate in her new role.
She rarely loses a one-on-one contest and does not give her opponent an inch.
Roslyn Manns (Robina Mudgeeraba)
A crafty player who can impact the game in various ways.
Manns opens up the game with strong running patterns and is an unselfish teammate who shares her wealth of knowledge with her team.
Ashlee Flick (Robina Mudgeeraba)
The captain and general in defence.
Flick sets the standards for her side at training and during games.
