We reveal the 35 breakout stars from QFA Division 2 South

The QFA Division 2 South stars have emerged from each side and we have shone a light on the players who have made their mark throughout the opening month of the season.

The Coast’s elite Australian rules talents have emerged this season, with a variety of former AFL players and local young guns making their mark in the opening games of the QFA Division 2 South campaign.

Jordan Pastura

Burleigh

A tough midfielder who loves getting involved in the contest.

Pastura joined the Bombers last year and has worked his way into the senior side after previously playing in the reserves.

He has been a consistent performer throughout the opening month of the season with two best player nominations from three games.

Ethan Dawson

Burleigh

The brother of QAFL and VFL stars AJ and Jacob Dawson, Ethan returned to the Bombers last year and has barely skipped a beat since.

The half forward is Burleigh’s leading goalkicker this season with 11 majors from just two games including a damaging round 1 display against the Tweed Coast Tigers where he booted seven goals.

Lachlan Davidson

Davidson is one of the competition’s premier ruckmen and represented South Queensland in the state game last year.

He is also an attacking threat and kicked five goals in his first two games of the season.

Billy Bundle

Burleigh

Bundle is another dominant ruck within the Burleigh ranks and is set to dominate the aerial contests alongside Davidson.

Jarrah Uwland

Burleigh

Now into his third year of senior football, Uwland is an explosive midfielder who brings elite-level toughness.

Mali Uwland

Burleigh

The twin brother of top draft prospect Zeke, Mali Uwland has thrived in his second year of senior football and continues to improve every game.

He is an outside mid who will look to make an impact as an inside midfielder as well.

Lachlan Whitewood

Burleigh

The Bombers vice-captain had a big pre-season and will be a crucial figure for Burleigh as a key defender.

He is an athletic, versatile talent, who can play tall or small and is set for a massive season.

Harry Rendall

Rendall returned from a knee reconstruction and has been a force to be reckoned with in the forward line.

The big tall forward has kicked 11 goals in his first three games and booted seven majors against Robina on the weekend.

Luke Reynolds

Coomera

Reynolds has started the season strongly and is expected to only improve as the year goes on.

He brings a strong presence through the midfield and across halfback.

Lachlan Smith

Smith has joined the club from Cairns and has made a mark in the midfield and at halfback throughout the opening month of the season.

Jack Bowen

A Coomera junior who previously had a stint at Broadbeach and has been outstanding in the opening games this season.

He is a talented back-pocket who is a fierce competitor and hard at the football.

Jack Turner

Coomera

Turner previously played in Mackay and has been a strong contributor in the backline to start the year.

The former Coomera, Labrador and Pacific Pines junior has had a solid start to the season with two best player nominations.

Adam Honeysett

Beenleigh

An inside midfielder whose work rate and leadership is a class above.

He has been one of the most consistent performers for the Buffaloes this season and has been among his side’s best players every game.

Declyn Goode

Beenleigh

The Beenleigh captain is an inspiring leader and a strong defender.

Goode is a former South Queensland representative and enters this season off the back of a solid 2024 Division 1 campaign where he kicked 14 goals and earned six best player nominations from 15 games.

David Stray

Beenleigh

Stray has drastically improved his clearance work and the young gun is now a genuine game-changer who continues to develop after every game.

Jackson Clarke

Beenleigh

Clarke brings impressive experience at centre-half back and is a crucial member of the Beenleigh set-up.

He is a previous best and fairest winner at the club and brings exceptional balls skills and a great work rate.

Harrison Buckley

Beenleigh

Buckley’s elite ball skills and impressive game IQ has been pivotal throughout the opening games of the season.

His game knowledge and all-round skills allow him to make an impact at either end of the field.

Peter Yagmoor

Yagmoor is a new recruit this season as a playing assistant coach with silky skills.

He brings elite experience from his time with Collingwood where he played at AFL and VFL level.

The former Redland-Victoria Point Sharks QAFL gun joined the club this season and has wasted no time in making his presence felt with four goals in his first three games.

Sam McCarthy

Robina Mudgeeraba

A tough inside midfielder who has an incredible ability to find ways to win the ball off his own back.

He uses the ball well, is a club best and fairest winner and brings his teammates into the contest.

Cody Davis

Robina Mudgeeraba

The Roos vice-captain is the heartbeat of the side.

He is a small player who plays far bigger than his size and is dominant through the midfield.

Lachlan McDonald

A former VFL player who can win the ball on the inside or open the game up outside the contest.

He brings elite ball skills and his run and carry is a game-changer for the Roos.

Jack Taylor

A great defender who is incredible in the aerial contests and very rarely outmarked.

Taylor has been a revelation in his first season at the club and has been a leader in the backline.

Cameron Topping

Topping joined the Roos from Surfers Paradise and the towering ruck has been one of the best players in their opening three games.

Alwyn Davey

The former Essendon Bomber has had a dominant start to the 2025 season.

He is a two-way player who is a game-changer wherever he plays on the field and brings invaluable experience.

Davey has already kicked 10 goals in three games this season despite splitting time between defence and attack.

Matt Shaw

A dependable leader who brings poise and polish to the Roos.

His classy ball skills and ability to read and game has been crucial to the side’s structure.

Miles Enders

Bond University

Enders has been an impressive pick-up from Melbourne and is an impressive mid-sized half forward.

He is incredibly mobile, has elite ball skills and great aerial prowess.

Nick Francis

Bond University

A member of the Gold Coast Suns VFL program, Francis has taken his game to another level this year in the midfield.

Daniel Middleton

Bond University

Middleton wasted no time making an impact at the club as he was immense throughout pre-season and given the captaincy in his first season at Bond.

He is the ultimate professional and a natural leader on and off the field for younger teammates.

Middleton showed he has what it takes to turn it on and take over as he stepped up with two crucial goals in the final quarter of his side’s 14-point win over Coolangatta in round 2.

Felix Packer

Bond University

A big full forward who has returned from two long term knee injuries and has hit the ground running with six majors from his first three games.

Finlay Gray

Bond University

A Bond scholarship player who was a part of the Gold Coast Suns Academy and Broadbeach QAFL sides last year.

Gray has impressed on the halfback line and often turns defence into attack thanks to his unrivalled ability to take intercept marks.

Brodie Murdoch

Carrara

A veteran who brings years of elite-level experience.

Murdoch brings SANFL, VFL and NEAFL experience and previously played for Beenleigh in the QFA Division 1.

Luke Meagher

Carrara

Meagher was a standout performer during his first season with the Saints as he finished runner-up in the club best and fairest and has continued that form this season.

He is a strong midfielder who is the ultimate competitor and as consistent as they come.

Jayden and Heath Brennan

Carrara

The Brennan brothers are skilled, classy competitors who bring solid experience, are great teammates and are good all-round clubmen.

Ryan Gaffney

Carrara

A young gun who has burst out of the blocks this season.

His fitness is a class above as he can run all day and is a major contributor on the wing.
