We reveal our Gold Coast cricket Premier League teams of the season

With the Cricket Gold Coast regular season wrapping up, we have unveiled our First and Second Grade teams of the season. See who made the cut from your club here.

With the Cricket Gold Coast Premier League regular season reaching its conclusion and the finals just around the corner, we’ve trawled through the stats to name our First and Second Grade teams of the season.

The teams includes five batters, an all-rounder, a wicketkeeper and four bowlers.

Take a look at who makes it into our dream team which features some of the best local cricketers in the region.

First grade

1. James Sales (Broadbeach)

One of the elite talents in the competition, Sales takes the first opener spot in this dream team after an exceptional season.

Sales scored two tons, two 50s and ended the regular season with 450 runs at an average of 64.29.

2. Lydon Gibbons (Mudgeeraba)

The Mudgeeraba skipper produced several crucial knocks throughout the campaign as he scored 395 runs at an average of 43.89.

His best performance of the year came against Coomera where he scored a classy 102 from 150 balls.

3. Joshua Nelson (Mudgeeraba)

Another Mudgeeraba Nerang star in this dream team, Nelson is a game-changer who often thwarted the opposing bowlers’ hopes of building up momentum.

The top order bat scored 540 runs from 10 innings at an average of 60.

Impressively, Nelson scored at least 50 runs in half of his innings, as he scored four 50s and one century.

4. Dhanushka Mitipolaarachchi (Southport)

The Southport captain ended the regular season as the leading run-scorer in the competition with 639 runs at an average of 49.15.

Along with dominating with the bat, Mitipolaarachchi was also a weapon with the ball, taking 17 wickets at 16.47.

5. Harold Jones (Surfers Paradise)

Jones earns a spot in the middle order of this dream team after scoring four half-centuries in 11 innings.

The Demons batter racked up 430 runs throughout the season, with a top score of 90 and a solid average of 39.09.

6. Corey Galloway (Alberton)

Galloway takes the all-rounder’s spot in this team after an exceptional campaign with bat and ball.

He was superb with the ball, taking 22 scalps at 17.64 with best figures of 5-96 and was equally impressive with the bat, scoring 360 runs at 32.73.

When he was in form, there were few bowlers who could stop him as he scored two centuries and one 50.

7. Steven Baker (Queens)

The Queens star takes the spot as wicketkeeper in this team after a stellar 2024-25 season.

Baker scored five 50s from 10 innings and totalled 411 runs at an average of 68.5.

With the gloves, he made 20 dismissals, with his best performance against Burleigh where he took five catches.

8. Freddie Fowler (Runaway Bay)

One of the most fierce bowlers in the league, Fowler tore through several batting orders for fun this season as he took 34 wickets at an amazing average of 11.29.

His wickets often came in surges as he picked up four five-wicket-hauls in just 10 games.

9. Michael Waldren (Surfers Paradise)

Waldren was a consistent threat with the ball for Surfers, taking 29 wickets in 15 games at an average of 17.14.

10. Jonathan Baldock (Surfers Paradise)

Baldock formed a lethal partnership with Waldren at the Demons with the duo both in the top four for wickets taken in the league.

Baldock ended the regular season with an impressive 27 scalps and two five-wicket hauls from 14 games with an average of 14.11.

11. Finn Lonnberg (Palm Beach Currumbin)

Lonnberg’s efforts spearheading the Palm Beach Currumbin bowling attack earned him the final spot in the team.

The PBC bowler took 28 wickets at an average of 15.21 with his best performance against Southport.

Lonnberg took eight wickets in that round 16 clash including season-best figures of 5-40 in the first inning.

Second grade

1. Matthew Field (Palm Beach Currumbin)

Field kicks off the second grade team after his strong season with PBC where he scored 432 runs at 39.27.

The opener scored two 50s and one century, with a top score of 101.

2. Tom Faulkner (Burleigh)

Faulkner is the next batter in the second grade team after his exceptional campaign where he scored 435 runs at an average of 48.33.

He surpassed 50 three times with a highest score of 83.

3. William O’Brien (Palm Beach Currumbin)

O’Brien dominated with the bat and in the field this summer as he scored 421 runs at 42.1, which included a stunning century against Southport in Round 16.

As a keeper, he had 13 dismissals, which included 11 catches, a stumping and a run-out.

4. Nathan Hill (Queens)

Hill was the top run-scorer in the competition this year, scoring 494 runs at 41.17.

He picked up four half centuries with a top score of 71 against Palm Beach Currumbin.

5. Oisin Briggen (Burleigh)

Briggen takes the final specialist batter spot in the team after he scored 400 runs at 44.44 with an amazing top score of 150 not-out.

6. Amit Bhasin (Broadbeach)

Bhasin takes the spot as the all-rounder after his impressive campaign where he scored 218 runs and took 16 wickets at an average of 11.81.

7. Matthew Yiend (Alberton)

Yiend takes the gloves as the wicketkeeper for the team after a strong year.

With the bat, he scored 436 runs at an average of 27.25 but it was his efforts behind the stumps which stole the show.

Yiend made 27 dismissals which included 23 catches, three stumpings and one run-out.

8. Andrew Craig (Palm Beach Currumbin)

Craig was one of the most consistent bowlers this season, with a competition-high 39 wickets at an amazing average of just 8.77.

His best performance was against Southport, where he took 6-40 from 26 overs.

9. Madeesha Perera (Surfers Paradise)

Few batters had an answer for Perera when he was on song, as the Surfers Paradise bowler claimed 35 scalps at an average of 8.34.

Impressively, he picked up four five-wicket hauls across his 15 second grade games.

10. Sam Bingley (Queens)

Bingley spearheaded the lethal Queens bowling attack as he picked up 36 wickets from 17 games at an average of 13.64 and a best innings of 4-9.

11. Mitch Foster (Queens)

Foster sneaks in to take the final spot in the team after he picked up 33 wickets at an average of 11.7.

He took two five wicket-hauls with a best innings of 7-23 and also claimed one of only two Second Grade 10-wicket matches this year.

Foster took 11-33 across the two innings against Southport.
