Coolangatta Tweed had a year to remember with all three QFA Division 2 South men’s and women’s teams making the grand finals, with the women’s side also taking home the minor premiership.
Unfortunately for the Blues, it was not to be on grand final day, with all three sides suffering defeat.
However, the Blues still took home silverware in 2025 with the U17 Girls Division 2 South and U13 Girls Division 2 Gold Coast/Northern Rivers sides winning their premierships.

10. Ormeau

The under-17 Division 3 boys team was the fairytale story for the Bulldogs this year as they went back-to-back in emotional fashion.
Playing in honour of their late assistant coach Wayne Fogden, who passed away in 2024, Ormeau’s young guns were determined to win the premiership in his honour - which they did.
“I lost my best mate last year, he was assistant coach so we credited the grand finals last year and this year to him,” coach Troy Brooke said.
“To go back-to-back for him was huge, he was a massive part of Ormeau.”

Junior finals appearances: 3
It was a solid year for Robina with two of the three senior sides and all three competitive junior teams making the finals.
Honourable mentions
Both of these clubs only had the one senior team competing this year so could not be ranked fairly against their northern counterparts but still had moments to remember in 2025.
Byron Bay
Byron Bay only fielded the one senior side this year which finished seventh in the QFAW Division 2 competition but it did taste success at junior level with the under-15 Girls Division 3 team taking home the premiership.
Ballina Bombers
The Bombers only had three teams playing for points across junior and senior level this year yet impressively all three sides made finals.
