Brisbane Broncos-contracted young gun Billo Wotton left onlookers shell-shocked when he scored one of the all-time great tries during the 3PTAG Junior All Nations competition on the Gold Coast.

Wotton beat multiple opposing defenders with an incredible kick chase which was capped off by a stunning side-heel volley to himself before crossing over to scorefor Congo.

Despite only being in Year 11, the electric centre was a breakout star of Wavell State High’s Langer Trophy side this season.

But even his school coach was amazed by the skills he unleashed during the carnival.

Broncos-contracted Year 11 star's incredible try

“He’s got a very good passing game and all that sort of stuff but I probably haven’t seen as much of his kicking,” Wavell SHS coach Paul Stanley said.

“I’ve seen little glimpses, a little bit at training but he has probably let his creative side come out in 3PTAG which is good.”

Stanley was impressed with how Wotton took on his first Langer Trophy season in 2025 and was excited to see the impact he could have in 2026 with a year under his belt.

“He played a full year playing on our right side he marked up against some of the best centres in the comp and held his own,” Stanley said.

“Guys like Antonio Verhoeven and (Joseph) Tupuse he marked up on them and did a really good job defensively.

“We’re looking for him to be one of our key players next year as a 17-year-old.

“Anyone that’s already played a year and has that extra experience is invaluable coming back for a second year.

“He is someone who obvious has quality, he is signed by the Broncos and obviously his skill level is very, very handy to have.”

Wotton was one of several young touch footy and rugby league stars who made their mark throughout the 3PTAG tournament on the weekend and we have shone a light on all the players who starred across the three days.
