The girls enjoyed the limelight on an exciting opening day of action on Field 2 at Pacific Youth Rugby Festival.
Marist Ryze underlined their potential in the U16s with a 30-0 demolition of AU Superstars, who themselves backed up in the afternoon to beat Queensland Fiji 29-0, while Queensland Barbarians U14s edged out Queensland Kiwis 12-5.
Meanwhile, in the battle of the big guns in the U16 boys, Queensland Barbarians emerged with a 22-15 win over SupaFresh to maintain their unbeaten start.

The Pacific Youth Rugby Festival, which includes cultural sides representing Australia’s proud Pacific Islander community, will give a stage for the next generation of players.
The tournament has grown exponentially in recent years, with 45 teams across eight divisions playing across four fields each day.
KommunityTV will live stream every match across the three-day tournament including all of Sunday’s semi-finals and grand finals.
