NBA superstars are in Orlando preparing to restart the season and the league has put in place a system to catch rule breakers, with fellow players dobbing on each other. Will the AFL follow in Queensland?

The AFL generally likes following American sports.
Well, they may need to set up a “snitch hotline” for its various hubs just like the NBA has done in its Orlando bubble.
As part of a 113-page memo, the NBA set up an anonymous hotline for players to report peers they suspect are breaking the rules.
And it has been running hot.
Some players have already received warnings from the league for their violations, which reportedly stem from social distancing and mask protocol.
The tips have already irked some around the league with Clippers guard Lou Williams posting a rat emoji on Twitter.
Two players – Rockets forward Bruno Caboclo and Kings centre Richaun Holmes – have already broken the league’s safety protocols and have to restart the quarantine process.
Caboclo was reportedly unaware that he was not able to leave his room during the initial quarantine period upon arrival in the bubble.
Holmes “briefly and accidentally” crossed campus lines to pick up food delivery, he announced on Twitter on Monday.

DATA ERROR GIVES CAT RARE RECORD
Harry Taylor is a man of many talents but running at elite speed isn‘t one of them.
But the Geelong veteran has been able to challenge this notion in the Cats hub this week after a glitch in the AFL’s GPS data gave him an unexpected title.
According to the AFL app, Taylor set a new record for high speed running last week against Brisbane.
The measurement relates to distance covered by an individual player above 18km/h and indicates the amount of high speed running.
Taylor‘s reported figure against the Lions was 5.3km which comfortably took the record off Western Bulldogs speedster Jason Johannisen who registered 5.0km against Fremantle in Round 3, 2017.
The error was later fixed by the AFL but not before plenty of screen shots were taken for Taylor’s scrapbook.
Speaking of errors, Essendon went the old early crow about Tuesday night‘s tribunal hearing involving star midfielder Dylan Shiel.
The Bombers social media team emailed the wrong result out to its members with the heading: ‘Shiel’s ban – Downgraded’.
It was soon replaced with: ‘Verdict reached – For Shiel bump’. Then in the fine print it mentioned that the AFL Tribunal had upheld Shiel’s two-game ban.
