The talent factory: Keebra Park’s greatest athletes over five decades
Keebra Park legend Greg Lenton once dubbed it the ‘poor little school at the back of Southport.’ Today it is recognised as one of Australia’s finest sporting institutions. We name the 141 greatest athletes of the past five decades to emerge from Keebra Park.
To Keebra Park’s first supercoach Greg Lenton, it was simply the “poor little school at the back of Southport.”
The walls of Keebra Park are today rightfully recognised as a breeding ground of champions, from rugby league and touch football to the hockey fields, waves and diving pools of Australia.
Over the past 52 years the Southport-based school has awarded only a select few its prestigious Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year award.
These are those special few, plus the athletes who were never lucky enough to receive it.
