STEPHANIE Gilmore will go into a do or die round of the Roxy Pro after a faltering start to her campaign at Snapper Rocks today.

The six time world champion made a number of uncharacteristic mistakes in her heat where she eventually lost to Brazilian surfer Silvana Lima 18.16 points to 14.

She will now go into round two of the contest while Lima will progress through to round three.

Lima, 30, was ecstatic with her win as a large contingent of fans cheered her on as she came to the shore.

“It was an amazing heat for me,” Lima said.

“I love the crowd here. Everyone comes out to support.”

Meanwhile Central Coast surfer Sally Fitzgibbons progressed through to round three after winning her heat.

Fitzgibbons waited until the final minutes of the heat to post a wave score of 9.23 to take the victory over Courtney Conlogue and Nikki Van Dijk.
