SOME of the world’s best surfers have joined a group of more than 100 out on the water at Kirra Beach to launch the World Surf League’s #StopTrashingWaves campaign.

Kelly Slater, Jack Freestone, Alana Blanchard, Josh Kerr, Bede Durbidge, and Wade Carmichael were just a few of the top Championship Tour competitors to take part with over 100 Gold Coast and North Coast surfers at this morning’s paddle out on International Surfing Day.

The WSL has committed to becoming carbon neutral globally and eliminating single-serve plastics by the end of 2019 while also leaving each place better than it was found.
