TAJ Burrow and Joel Parkinson will drop in to Dreamworld this weekend to meet fans and the theme park’s adorable tiger cubs ahead of next week’s Quiksilver Pro at Snapper Rocks.
The World Surf League tour opener gets under way on Thursday at Snapper, one of the iconic Gold Coast beaches between Burleigh and Coolangatta that form the Gold Coast World Surfing Reserve.
Three-time Quiksilver Pro champion Burrow, who called the small conditions at last year’s tour-opening surf contest at Snapper the worst he’d ever surfed on a world tour event, can look forward to a more consistent wave at Dreamworld tomorrow courtesy of the park’s popular FlowRider attraction.
Professional flow boarders will hit FlowRider’s winning wave to demonstrate their fusion board sport skills and spin some tricks for tomorrow’s Sunday session.
Burrow, Parkinson and international riders Italo Ferriera, Courtney Conlogue and Alessa Quizon will also pose for photos and share tips with fans during an autograph session from 1pm..
Billabong will give away a surfboard signed by Parkinson (tickets for the 3pm draw can be collected at the gate on arrival).
A swag of talented groms from the Billabong Junior Team will also be along for the ride and fans can climb inside the Billabong Bikini Truck _ a vintage airstream turned bikini boutique.
