FEMALE amateur Gold Coast surfers will have a shot at competing alongside Sally Fitzgibbons in the opening World Surf Le

ague event in April.

Fitzgibbons will hand pick a surfer from The Boost Mobile Pro Wildcard Competition to compete in the trials where a spot at the Boost Mobile Pro, to be held at Snapper Rocks, could await.

Surfers will need to enter a video submission and the 10 that receive the most votes will be short-listed before Fitzgibbons choose who will compete in the trials in April.

“This is such an epic opportunity for the emerging female surfers coming through, to come up against the Best on the World Tour,” Fitzgibbons said.

“Competitions like this that Boost Mobile are running symbolises both the current and future gens of surfing coming together to get the best performances out of one another and push the level of the sport.

“I’m stoked to be doing the honours of selecting the best clip and seeing that surfers face light up when I tell them they will be surfing in the Boost Mobile Pro.

“I remember the feeling being electric going into my very first World Tour event on the Gold Coast 11 years ago, it’s super special and something this surfer will never forget.”

Fitzgibbons will judge the competition submissions and officially announce the winner on March 26 before the trials are held on April 2.
