WYONG
BEST BET
Race 5, No.11: PETULANT
She’s going to improve greatly off her debut run at Hawkesbury and this track should suit her with the powerful Team Hawkes/Tommy Berry combination behind her.
NEXT BEST
Race 4, No.7: LORD WINSTON
He was very good in winning last time on his home track and looks suited to getting up to a mile now third-up.
QUADDIE
Race 4: 1, 3, 7
Race 5: 1, 2, 5, 11
Race 6: 1, 4, 7
Race 7: 2, 3, 9
JOCKEY TO WATCH
Tyler Schiller is a good chance of getting Tudor Music home in the sixth race here from a good gate and another good hope is Conference in the second event.
QUEANBEYAN
BEST BET
Race 3, No.4: ACCURE
He loves racing here and is racing in very consistent fashion at his home track and will get the ideal run from the barrier and expect another good showing.
TRAINER TO WATCH
Joe Cleary is always a chance of training a winner or two here and most of his horses are winning hope here. Expect improvement from Bring The Romance.
THE INSIDE MAIL FOR WYONG
RACE 4
Lord Winston is still learning his craft but is winning along the way which highlights his natural talent. He won over 1350m two weeks ago at Newcastle and the mile now looks ideal even if he gets into a tighter track. Tim’s Principal drops back in grade off a pretty decent effort in town five weeks ago when not getting the best of luck. He’s only had one run here for a win and he likes racing fresh. Bak Da Man win well at Port Macquarie last month and will eat up the mile and soft ground won’t hurt its winning chances. Mon Amore will sit off them and try to make a late charge.
Bet: Lord Winston to win
RACE 5
Petulant was beaten at Hawkesbury as an odds-on favourite on debut but she gets into this better in a set weights race and will have gained a lot from the experience last time out and she finished well in front of the third horse that day. One Way Street was pretty good here on debut and is another natural improver after only having one trial before his debut. Nasturtium put in a pretty good barrier trial on a wet track and he may push forward from a wide gate and give this a shake.
Bet: Petulant to win
RACE 6
Sachello likes to be on the speed and that’s a positive at this track and three weeks ago she was beaten by a horse at the midweeks that went on to win in town on a Saturday and dropping back to 1000m should help. Tudor Music drops well back in grade after running well enough against a horse that’s heading towards Stakes racing so the form is great. In fact, the form had been good all preparation. Omar won last start and is up in grade now but won at his only start at this track. Embeller is a threat fresh but doesn’t want a heavy track.
Bet: Tudor Music to win
RACE 7
Midori Beauty came from nowhere to win on debut and has trialled up well enough since and will take plenty out of that win and give a good showing but he might be unders. Shalstar had a racing pattern that suits this circuit and peaks third-up off a Gosford win and is one of the rising horses in this field which is stacked with a bunch of out of form horses. Hasty Duchess hasn’t had much racing in the past year but might be a smoky off a quiet trial and will be running on.
Bet: Shalstar to win
THE INSIDE MAIL FOR QUEANBEYAN
RACE 4
Cosmic Serenade drops well back in grade but goes up 5.5kg in weight and she’s never carried anything near 60.5kg before so there will be a question mark on her, but she’s fit and won here two starts back. Veteran Stone Cold runs well here and is peaking third-up from an inside gate so there will be no excuses and carrying 60.5kg is something he’s used to. Concrete has three wins at his home track and look for him to sit in behind the speed over 1000m from a bad draw. Redicon goes well fresh and hasn’t run worse than second here from five starts.
Bet: Stone Cold to win
RACE 5
Bring The Romance cost herself any chance of winning on debut when missing the kick and never being in it. If she can learn from that and jump better, she’s a chance because she looks determined enough. The blinkers go on which should be seen as a big plus. Cosmic Shot took some time to get into stride on debut but ran nicely for second place. She’s drawn out now which changes things but she’s got a good performance in her again. Jesta Diva didn’t get much luck last start when making a run out wide but didn’t shirk her task late.
Bet: Bring The Romance to win
RACE 6
Romero needs a scratching to get a run here and if he does, he’s a good chance in a pretty weak Class 1 event. He’s only missed a placing once in seven starts and will race positive and handle any type of ground. Samindi was good in a stronger race here two weeks ago and her win came second-up last time in. She just needs luck from an awkward draw. Sifu’s win here last start wasn’t a surprise and if she can take confidence out of that she can win at this level and she’s just one of two who are coming off a win.
Bet: Romero to win
RACE 7
Sisseck is going from 1212m up to 1600m within a week so it will be some training performance by Keith Dryden if he’s to win but he has found a weak race for him to aim at. The Towers drops well back in grade here and all of his career wins have come at 1600m. Gilded Crown has placed in two of his past three and will have no issues running out the trip and a wet track isn’t going to be the reason why he doesn’t win this race.
Bet: The Towers to win
