Was building up to that last start win here and finds the perfect race again to keep the ball rolling.

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR NEWCASTLE

RACE 1

Miss Maz is a Snitzel co-trained by Gerald Ryan; goes without saying that he knows more about the breed than anyone. This filly has a great family, one of the best there is on our Stud Book and her dam just happens to be by Galileo. So far as running goes - Miss Maz can....and fast! Godolphin paid $600000 for Ultra (a sister to Extreme Choice) at the Magic Millions sale in 2020. Back for the second prep now and sure to run well on the trial. Shastar bears close inspection on debut here off her lively trials.

Bet: Miss Maz to win, exacta 3 to beat 2

RACE 2

Speaking of pedigrees; Willowy has eight winning siblings including Skilled, Sidestep and Ambidexter. As for Willowy, she has placed at two of her three starts, one of them was in town on debut. Well placed for the first win here. You could say Galactic Angel is down in class having run in the Flight Stakes 10-days ago. Granted she finished last beaten 20-lengths but go back one start and she almost knocked off the outstanding Thousand Years. Just Like Lisa gets back and charges.

Bet: Willowy to win

RACE 3

Jesse James has been beaten as an odds-on favourite three times in his eight starts but not by far. If you are a more the glass half full kind of punter, you would be pleased with his overall record. Unless something goes wrong, you would think he runs top three again. Unzaga was $1.40 at Gunnedah last start and by rights was overs. He was never, ever going to be beaten. Harder here but he is as progressive as he is flashy. Madalorian is a consistent horse who looks spot on for the 1890m. Deel Street was a ‘very good last’ at Hawkesbury!

Bet: Jesse James to win, box trifecta 3,4,6,7

RACE 4

Norwegian Bliss was the biggest street corner tip in town and country when she made her much anticipated debut at Port Macquarie on September 26. She was $1.95 into $1.65 that day and was still way, way too good for them despite covering ground from the wide alley. Class act who will be winning better races before she’s done. Roots heralded her potential with that debut win at Goulburn 17-days ago. Will appreciate the extra 100m on Tuesday too. Spanish Pearl was $31 into $21 and ran accordingly. Runner-up to Splendiferous at her only t/d run before this.

Bet: Norwegian Bliss to win, exacta 4 to beat 6

RACE 5

Lovero accepted for a race at Warwick Farm tomorrow so keep an eye out in case she runs there. Lovero had some specking ($21 into $17) when she made her debut at Hawkesbury back on August 10 and hers was dead-set one of the runs of the race in what was an unusually deep provincial maiden. Got a pedigree to back her talent. Not many better lookers on the card than Pascal but what else would expect being by So You Think. Big debut in town in May, trialled like a bomb at Rosehill two weeks ago. No one missed the debut run of South African bred filly Red Boulevard at home at Scone surely.; 900m to 1250m - nice.

Bet: Lovero to win but is scratched, Pascal to win, box trifecta 1,8.10.13

RACE 6

Torinda was building up to a win - and it came with a reasonably high degree of authority and ease. The venue was Newcastle, the distance was 1300m and while he is back 100m here, that shouldn’t really worry him - but the barrier might? Good deal of interest and intrigue here surrounding Spatlet. Debut winner at Donald over 1350m almost a year to the day. Is with Annabel Neasham now. The trials are impossible to read so the market is the guide. Bottom line is, he is a very well-bred horse who won his only start. Trinity Missile was a distant second to Nadaraja last start; that might be Kosciuszko form come Saturday arvo.

Bet: Torinda to win

RACE 7

Miss Scalini could give Nathan Doyle the training honours on the day bearing in mind that Doyle trains (our best bet) Norwegian Bliss. As for Miss Scalini, she has raced 22 times for five wins and five placings which is a tidy C.V. Doyle has her placed for a sixth win here and the barrier gods obliged with box one. Too Much Class lived up to her lofty moniker when she won a Scone last start. Has to go in again. Tim’s Principal has some great numbers at this track. Always a red-hot player when it’s dry underfoot.

Bet: Miss Scalini to win
