KENSINGTON

BEST BET

Race 6, No.10: GOOD OMENS

Granddaughter of Burst who did some good things in her five starts. Resumes here off two pleasing trials and has ‘the right draw’ to make an impact.

NEXT BEST

Race 1, No.3: ATON OF DELIGHT

Well bred I Am Invincible gelding out of a Group 2 winning Zabeel mare making his debut at 1400m which should suit this future miler/2000m type.

VALUE BET

Race 7, No.13: ATLANTIC KING

Didn’t do a whole lot first-up at the Farm but crucial to factor in that both career wins came when he was second-up as is the case today.

QUADDIE

Race 4: 1,5,9

Race 5: 3,5,9

Race 6: 2,10

Race 7: 2,5,13

THE INSIDE MAIL FOR KENSINGTON

RACE 1

Aton Of Delight is am I Am Invincible gelding out of Group 2 winning Zabeel mare Zurella and has the real look of a mile/2000m horse about him as time goes by, hence the fact that he makes his debut at 1400m. Trials have been rock solid. Market the guide. Sword Point was a $750,000 yearling for good reason being by American Pharoah out of Group 3 winning daughter of a Group 1 winner. Wasn’t great here first-up behind Able Willie but is a big improver. Miss Delia looked good late in her trial. Parlayed is well bred and has trialled well too.

Bet: Aton Of Delight each-way, quinella 3,7

RACE 2

Conrad is the $7 second favourite to win The Four Pillars but could go close to overtaking current top pick (stablemate) Different Strokes who is $5 to win the $700,000 feature on October 30. Both horses are untapped and yet to show their true ceiling. Kim Waugh will get a good sense of how high said roof is given the quality of this field. Four Pillars bound Kiss Sum had only bad luck when he raced at Rosehill two weeks ago. No doubt he should have been in the finish that day. Bend The Knee was a moral at Newcastle first-up. Loaded with talent.

Bet: Conrad to win, quinella 1,6, box trifecta 1,5,6

Mightybeel looks set to make it back-to-back wins. Picture: Grant Guy

RACE 3

Speaking of morals, Mightybeel was borderline good thing when he won at Rosehill 14-days ago. This Might And Power replica showed in his trial before his honourable first-up third at Gosford that he has come back in the career best shape. Dhakuri raced a bit flat at Warwick Farm. Just as it looked like he might round them up and race onto victory, it just didn’t happen like most of us thought it would. Gets a firm deck here which might help. Dream Runner is an honest and consistent horse. Been here three times and placed twice. Go well.

Bet: Mightybeel to win, exacta 1 to beat 6

RACE 4

This looks a fast run race which you would ‘’imagine’’ (pun alert) would suit Lennon best. The Les Bridge trained son of Incentivise’s sire, Shamus Award, is first-up here over 1000m but he hasn’t had a public trial presumably to keep the freshness in his legs. His best runs have been on this track. Tejori has some barrier issues on paper but she is deadly when fresh and the trial at Goulburn was an absolute beauty. Delexo has drawn wide at all three runs this prep but won two and ran second at the other. Drawn gate one here. Oh Please Dianna is a player.

Bet: Lennon to win

RACE 5

The Denzel went up at $1.10 at Wyong last start but punters saw it as better than bank interest given he started $1.08. He may as well have been $1.01 because this race was over and out by the 800m. The obvious point to make is that this race is significantly harder but he’s not ten-on this time. Just A Jedi was spelled after being beaten only two-lengths in the Group 2 Tulloch Stakes on April 3. This budding young stayer resurfaced in a 1300m Bm68 at Newcastle 18-days ago and ran on extremely well from the back to finish fourth. Up to 1550m now is a big plus. Another One was unlucky not to get a run in the Kosciuszko and given who won it; he might have gone close.

Bet: The Denzel to win, quinella 5,9, Daily Double 1st leg (9), 2nd leg (13)

RACE 6

Good Omens is by dual Cox Plate winner So You Think and also a granddaughter of the great Burst. This Chris Waller trained mare did some good things in her five starts prior to the break and resumes here off two highly inviting trials. Should get a great run from that draw. My Delight is the tenth foal of Mica’s Pride’s whose previous offspring include (her brother) Criterion, Comin’ Through, Vareena Miss and Silently. What a mare. Had ‘next time’ written all over her even though she only beat one other home here first-up. Elusive Jewel rattled home to second to the handy Pippali at Rosehill 14-days ago.

Bet: Good Omens to win, exacta 10 to beat 2

RACE 7

Atlantic King was never really a factor at Warwick Farm first-up but it is worth noting that both of his career wins came when he was second-up as he is here. Has placed on the Kenso and is the value runner here. Blesk lost no admirers in defeat here three weeks ago. How could he have after giving away a head start to a handy horse who had the run of the race - and still looked like he won to the naked eye. Deserves a change of luck big time. Le Vizir landed some canny bets ($14 into $11) when he roared away late to win easily at the Farm first-up. Can keep progressing. Grace Bay has won five from 12 which is no mean feat.

Bet: Atlantic King to win or if scratched, Blesk to win
